The volume of each head should be adjusted accordingly to the recording.
 
Second unit as used on Kon Tiki, Wonderful Land, Peace Pipe, The Savage etc.

2nd tap 200ms
3rd tap 280ms
4th tap 360ms
The volume of each head should be adjusted accordingly to the recording, usually the fourth head is the one assigned to the repeat and is the higher in volume.
